WHAT IS THE FLU?

Influenza, often called the flu, is a contagious resporatory disease caused by influenza viruses. In the United States , the flu is an annual event that begins in December and ends in March.

A "pandemic" flu is a disease that spreads all over the world and affects a large number of people.
